Life Of Nours

May 2012, because of a company trip to Korea, I have to settle my PTPTN. Yela tak rajin nak bayar until getting blacklisted from going out of Malaysia or dengan kata lain immigration blacklist. At that time, in order to clear my name from the immigration blacklist, I need to pay 2K and samada potongan gaji or standing instruction for PTPTN to released my name from immigration blacklist.

I chose to do standing instruction from my Maybank account every month.

So I’ve been paying my PTPTN thru standing instruction for 5 years and almost finished. I decided to pay the remaining amount but need to stop the standing instruction first. With using standing instruction, you need to manually stop or cancel it, or else it will keep on paying PTPTN from your account even tho you are debt free from PTPTN. Need to do it at least 7 days before the deduction day.

Last month  I went to Maybank Kangar to make the cancelation. Need to fill in form and make sure your signature is the same when you sign in the standing instruction form (that’s what they’ve told me). I guess your signature won’t change much right even after 5 years haha. A few days after that I received a call from Maybank to verify my standing instruction cancelation form. Yada yada yada…he said to confirm I need to wait to see if there’s any deduction make the next month.

I checked my account on 5th June, and there is still a deduction for the PTPTN. I called Maybank customer service to find out about my cancelation, they said I need to check with the branch. I tried calling a few times but never answered. So I decided to go to the bank.

At the information counter, I asked the kakak there about the cancelation of my standing instruction that I’ve made last month. She kind of remembers I did it (she seems to have a pretty good memory or I’m the only one come to do the cancelation XD) and there is another guy colleague with her. And she seems shocked that my cancelation still not processed and was mumbling with her colleague friend about who’s in charge of it and look displeased. When you are working together, you kind of know who are lazy and who is not. She gave me that feeling.

So she went to the counter and come back to me tell me to go to the counter and asked for En. Haris. I went and asked for the person and question about my cancelation process. His desk is behind the counter and he walked to the counter with the blurred face and asking his other colleagues about either there is a standing instruction for PTPTN. Panas hati dah time ni. I answered yes I did standing instruction for my PTPTN. As if I’m stupid enough not knowing what the hell I did for my account.

So he asked for my IC and went back to his desk. While checking whatever he needs, he asked me where I live etc and if I’m going to KL anytime soon. I was like “apa ko merepek labu” face. Then he comes back with some info he has jotted down, and said to me “Standing instruction Cik ni masih aktif, kami dah hantar pada HQ tapi kami tak boleh pastikan HQ terima atau tidak”. Can you imagine how I felt at that time? What stupid nonsense he talked about. I asked him then what am I supposed to do? go to HQ myself or call HQ. He said no need, I just need to refill again and he will make sure it will be sent by today. That got me thinking, he actually did not process my cancelation form in the first place! So rage at that time but I don’t want to create a scene, so I just do as he asked me to do. Went back to info desk counter where the kakak earlier looks surprised by his colleague (Abdul Haris) advise and slowly retrieve a new form for me to fill in. I know she also displeased of his action.

I filled in again a new form and as advised by that kakak to asked from Abdul Haris a copy of the forms a evidence of my submission. I never have any copy for my earlier submission because they did not give any. And at the first time how would I know to asked for one. When I asked him, he even said he will give me a copy of GDEX form. I’m not sure why they need to send the original and physical form. Not sure why the process of this cancelation like really old skool.

Once all done, on my way back. I called Maybank customer service because i feel so angry and dissatisfied with how they handle this. Customer service give me the HQ number and asked me to call back tomorrow because it’s already closed.

Copy of my cancelation form. Yang penting cop pengesahan tu.

Patiently i waited and call HQ the next day. Yada yada yada I finally talked to the person in charge and I tell him my case. He said it should be the branch calling them…well he should right but he did not even call because he did not process my earlier cancelation. And i told him about the GDEX and he said the address is not even right so he asked me to just send a copy of my form. And the next day,
So easy. I mean it should be this way right. Every system is upgraded why can’t they upgrade the process.

Assalam Cik,
Standing Intruction saya dah cancelkan, so next month dah tak ada deduction lagi.

Or maybe on that day, I should demand for the branch manager hahah. But at that moment to angry to think of anything.

So when you wanted to cancel standing instruction on Maybank account, this is the step.
  1. Fill in form
  2. Ask for a copy as an acknowledgement that they received your forms
  3. Asked for how long will it take to process (according to one of my call to customer service, they said have to asked the branch about it)
Well this a long ranting from me lol. Have a nice day everyone!
